The PLAN your guide and roadmap as to what you are doing, why, how, resources, costs, etc. If you are seeking to stay in business for a long time, yes, you need a plan. If you are planning to have a major operation, a business plan will help tremendously.
Plan your work---then work your plan--to become successful.
If you want to set up a corporation and sell stock--yes, you should have a decent written BUSINESS PLAN. If you are seeking to find investors-- or others who will loan money to your business, they will want to see your well prepared BUSINESS & MARKETING PLAN.
If you think you want to get a big business loan--- you need to produce a full written draft --explaining profits & losses, descriptions of the way you earn profits, how you will pay back the loan, and any other info in regards to being able to acquire such a loan.
You may even be subjected to a credit check for a loan.
PRESENTATION OF REQUESTED DOCUMENTS & INFO---
Clients seeking loans, investments or similar funding must produce information, data, and documents that will demonstrate profits, income, sales and/or their ability to repay a loan, or the profitability of their Business Plan.
Clients must present these items in a prompt and timely manner to the Consultants and/or to the lenders or others upon request in reference to the Business Plan---or that may be requested by the lender or investor---which may include: letters of credit, purchase orders, sales contracts, deeds, titles, patent info, co-signers, collateral, equity, sources of profits, and other documents that will demonstrate the ability to pay or re-pay any loans or investments.
Consultants are in no way obligated to continue doing research to find lenders or investors in such case that a client refuses or fails to produce such necessary documents, legal papers, or similar.
Consider this simple illustration:
Two men have decided to meet each other in another city. One knows where they are going. The other doesn’t. The first one knows how to get there. He knows how to read a compass and a map. The other doesn’t. The first one knows how long it should take, what supplies they need, and the full reason for their trip. The other doesn’t. The first guy has also prepared a budget for their venture, has considered any possible problems--such as: flat tires or emergencies. He has a 'road service' card and he will have extra cash for any possible set-backs. And he has a phone book full of helpful resources. The other has not thought about such issues at all.
Is the one who does not know like the one who knows? Do they see the same? Suppose the one who does not know decides to set out on a path of his own making? What are the chances they will arrive at the same destination? Not much.
Some people possess a certain level of knowledge, for example--"being street wise." More often than not...the people who think this way are functioning on their own compulsions, emotions, and moment-to-moment desires--- and are the ones who have the most difficulty being successful in any other arena (other than the streets).
Yes, we all need some 'mother wit'--and a sense of how to survive out in the world. But will this type of knowledge get you what you want in the business or professional world? Or do you have to acquire additional types of knowledge (expertise & skills) in order to achieve what you want?

What do I need to show potential investors or lenders in order to get some money for my business?
If you are starting or expanding a small business and seeking funds from either lenders, sponsors, donors, or investors....you must understand what they want to see in your Business Proposal.
Most investors, sponsors, and lenders want to see a well-written Business Plan, Proposal or an "Executive Summary" (or similar documents) that contains info, data, and explanations about the business and how it will earn money. The more you can demonstrate that what your business offers is or can become very PROFITABLE, the better your chances of getting some funds.
WHAT INDICATES THAT YOUR BUSINESS VENTURE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME PROFITABLE?
Give some specifics in your PLAN or PROPOSAL to an investor---such as:
* Market Research--- Showing---WHO WANTS WHAT YOU OFFER ?
* A previous solid track record of success in your profession or your business.
* Previous buyers? Market served by your business services or products.
* Present members, students, participants, clients, etc.
* Patents, deeds, titles, or similar valuable documents.
* Contracts, purchase orders, or other letters of confirmation & support.
* Results of Market Research, SURVEY RESULTS, expert's opinions, or similar.
* Letters of support for your project, services, or products.
NON-PROFIT or COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS: If your business idea falls within the realms of a "community service"..."worthy cause"... or "non-profit" charitable or educational program-- you can approach rich donors and/or other major companies to request that they become financial sponsors for your project. These donors or sponsors want to also know the same important information--- e.g. GOALS, SERVICES, MARKET, etc. Major SPONSORS will want to see that you have some form of legal corporation, foundation, licenses, and similar legal documents for your project. These types of SPONSORS are mainly interested in helping a "worthy social cause."
PROFIT-MAKING BUSINESSES: If you are selling products-- do you have any sales contracts or PURCHASE ORDERS?.... Have you already sold thousands of your products? ....Do you have "letters of intent to buy" from potential clients? ....Do you have regular subscribers for your services? .... Is your product now being ordered from major stores or other customers on a regular basis? ....Do you have a new "revolutionary" invention that will solve the world's major problems? .... Present something that is marketable, solid, and credible and your chance of getting investments are much better.
One important ingredient of your Business Plan is the MARKETING PLAN...you need to show specifics on how you will EARN financial PROFITS. Your marketing methods must be clearly explained and demonstrate that you will be able to reach clients and customers.
It is very hard to find investors for a "Business Plan" where there is little or no indication or evidence that anyone will be a customer or use the products. If you do not have some type of promising indication of doing business, of customers wanting your services, or a contract or "letter of intent to buy..." --- SOMETHING... then, it is much more difficult to find investors or obtain loans. INVESTORS and LENDERS want to know how they will be repaid.
An investor or lender wants to see how your business plans to advertise, promote, offer, price, mark-up, and deliver its goods, products/services. Who is the target market? Will you use the Internet? Do you have any collateral? What will you put on a website? How will you attract customers?
Are you doing MAIL ORDER? What do you mail and how much? What are the sales results? How much money do you project will be made in the first year? Has your product already been sold in stores or other places?
If you have a product (or service) that already has a track record for selling---show the data on past sales, where the product sells best, how much was sold, when, profits, etc.
You must include something in your BUSINESS PLAN that indicates that you have done some type of market research, surveys, or other actions to help determine that what you are offering has potential of being profitable.

And we do not release information about WHO the lenders, sponsors, donors, or investors are until we have all of your CONSULTING CONTRACTS signed and in order.
CLIENTS are under no obligation to pay consulting fees, commissions, finder's fees... or to contract with us by simply asking for information about our company's services and whether or not we might be able to assist you.
We do charge for actual services rendered in conducting searches, research, writing plans, organizing business ventures, finding lenders, setting up marketing programs, etc. If you need to have research done, or want our consultants to find resources, products, lenders, investors, prices, opportunities, agents, or funds---then you will have to sign our agreement for payment for these types of services.

Why do I need to fill out questionnaires & agreements ?
You must be able to DEFINE what you are doing, what you need, and your goals.
We need to know as much about your business venture, needs, desires, business history, your plans, products, and goals as possible before we can begin to assist you.
Who supports your venture? Who are your clients, participants, customers, members, etc.? Can you demonstrate that your services or products are desirable to other people?
Some entrepreneurs are looking for investors, while some want a Business Plan written, others want to set up a corporation, some are seeking GRANTS, some want tax assistance, and others are looking for better ways to promote. By filling out our surveys and questionnaires and providing a summary of your business idea--we can review them and then determine the best way to help.
If you do not want to complete these forms and agreements we will not be able to fully serve you as one of our clients, however you may want to purchase books.

What about joining an MLM-type company & network marketing?
Finding a good MLM (referral marketing) company that permits you to build a long term (residual income) is a very good way to start your own business. Yes, MLM (or network marketing) is an industry that has created more millionaires than any other industry in modern times. It can be a good way to go for those who want to start a profitable home-based business. In most cases, one can get started for less than $200 in an MLM business. There are many MLM companies which you can join for less than $75.00.
There are some good MLM companies that have successful Reps who earn a lot of money. And there are some that are not so good. Good MLMs offer their Reps a good compensation plan, quality products/services, leads, websites, brochures, videos, and supplies. Good MLM companies are well-financed and can show proof that their products/services are satisfactory to a lot of people. Check the company out before joining. You will be taking a BIG RISK if you invest or spend large amounts of money (more than $300) just to sign up or to stock products in your closet to possibly resell.

REMEMBER: MLM takes time to build a downline, find customers, and make money. It is A-OK when you do. But it does take time and patience....don't expect to "get rich quick." But it is very possible to get rich with a good MLM company.

Do you charge fees for your services?
Yes, we charge fees for writing business plans, finder's fees, setting up webpages or websites and other services rendered. We prepare an Agreement with all costs listed, which clients review and agree upon before any work is performed.
For example, generally we charge a fee of $50.00 per page for preparing, researching & writing a BUSINESS PLAN. So, if your final draft is 20 pages, then you would owe $1,000 upon delivery of the Business Plan.
FINDER'S FEES:FINDER'S FEES:
If you already have a Business Plan and are looking for investors, loans or other funds---and you simply want us to find money, our rate is 10% (ten percent) of the total amount found, or funding received as a result of our introductions. However, if your project is a big project---involving more than $1,000,000... we may charge for these extra expenses.
MARKETING PROGRAMS & SERVICES:
It depends upon what you want. If you want us to help set up TV infomercials, auction sales, or other marketing avenues for your products/services--- requiring additional work or services in order to obtain the money, we will charge more. In such a case, your costs could be as much as $35% including royalties or residuals.
All charges and costs will be put in writing in advance as soon as we have a copy of your Questionnaires, Business Plan and other information that will help us determine how much work will be involved in order to accomplish your goals.
